I strongly recommend Mr. Greg Thompson for consideration as a primary trainer and/or advisor for any unit’s combative program. I am currently responsible for the planning and execution of the Army’s Special Forces advanced Close Quarters Battle program and for the past 3 years we have incorporated Mr. Thompson’s combative program into our lesson plans.

His program has become an integral part of our course and has elevated the level of lethality in which our students return to the force.Mr. Thompson has played an instrumental role in developing the entire Command’s Combative programs. He has been developing this incredible skill for the past 10 years with the most elite units in the Army and has created a task specific program of instruction that is both easy to learn and retain. Mr. Thompson possesses an amazing ability to impart knowledge and does it in a way that enables students to quickly grasp the information.SOCP recently became the Program of Record for all Army Special Forces training as directed by the USAJFKSWCS Commanding General. This recognition is in part due to the program’s outstanding safety record. Amazingly we have been able to teach an extremely effective and aggressive technique for the past 3 years with minimal injuries. In the three years that this program has been at Range 37 there have been zero injuries due to combative training, this is a testament to Mr. Thompson training methodology and core principles that allow students to apply realistic force in order to develop confidence in what is being taught. SOCP has been extremely effective at training soldiers to a high level of proficiency in a short amount no matter what the soldier’s skill level might be.I fully endorse Mr. Greg Thompson and SOCP. This task specific program will arm any soldier with the necessary skills to overcome any situation in a combat environment. SOCP is a critical task that must be offered to any and all soldiers preparing to go into combat. Lives have been saved and will continue to be saved by this incredibly effective program.
